Arcane Mimicry Arcane Mimicry

Issue: While I love the idea of being able to use another player's elite temporarily, and the mesmer's ability to mimic other spell casters in general, it seems that this skill is mostly used in gimmicky builds that exploit the ability to have two elite skills. And the high cost, limited duration, and long recharge all work together to limit us to such builds. Obviously, lowering the cost, increasing the duration, or reducing the recharge would only result in those gimmicky builds becoming overpowered. I just feel like it's a fun skill that isn't able to reach its full potential because it'll be exploited so.

Additionally, mesmers are often perceived as being underpowered in PvE. To give them a unique and valuable ability might prove awesome.

Suggestion:

15 Energy2 Activation time60 Recharge time Form. You lose all effects and stop maintaining enchantments. For 1...32...40 seconds, all of your skills are replaced with the skills of target ally, your illusion magic is set to 12, and all non-attack skills use your illusion attribute instead of their normal attributes. When Arcane Mimicry ends, you lose all effects, stop maintaining enchantments, and all of your skills are disabled for 10 seconds. Attribute: Fast Casting. PvE only change.

I feel that the ability to temporarily duplicate an ally would prove invaluable, would be extremely fun, and would allow a mesmer to be extremely flexible in combat. To be a ritualist one minute, a mesmer the next, and then an elementalist the next. Obviously the ability to switch back and forth between two builds could prove exploitable, as was the case with Norn Blessings, thus the effect loss. Also the lack of elite status calls for a high cost and some penalty for cycling between builds, hence the skill disabling.

Additionally, this should probably be a unique talent of the mesmer, to give them something that other classes don't have. Therefore, linked to fast casting.

I suppose that something like this might warrant elite status anyway, so this change might fit some elite better. I just felt that the effect fits the name.
