- Either at a predetermined date when the character creator and all of it's options are finished or when someone preorders the game, you should be able to download (or in the case of the preorder, maybe you get a disc or something) the character creator. This would allow players that are not testing the game a little taste, while also letting them save templates that they could load into the live game when the game launches. People could create their characters and initial biography ahead of time so when the servers go up, they can just jump in and start playing. Other games have done this, including EQ2 which came out 2004, so I would assume this could be done relatively "easily" now as well.
- Ways you could make this available to the players:
- 1. A short time before the game goes live, maybe a week or two before hand.
- 2. From preordering.
- 3. From Collector's Edition.
- I suggest making it available to everyone for free, but I can also understand making it as an incentive to preorder.
