My suggestion for the upcoming updates is to not change Shadow Form or 600/Smite. I think you should leave them exactly as they are. I have a few arguments for why you should take my suggestion, but the point of this post is not to convince you (I'm sure it has already been decided). My point is to simply make you aware that Anet receives a slanted idea of what the community wants from places like Guru and Wiki. Not all of us agree with Karate Jesus et al. (not to single him out be he seems to be one of the most open and well-known advocates of a Shadow Form change). I don't feel that their arguments are particularly convincing, whether considering the economy, or the skill level, etc.

There is a dedicated player base that completes elite areas and dungeons that wishes for things to remain as they are. We enjoy farming and making money. I am struck by the fact that the development staff consistently asserts that they regard farming as a legitimate method of playing the game. And just as consistently betrays that statement when solo and team farming areas and builds are changed.

What saddens me the most is the effort and time that will be wasted when these skills are gone. The effort I put into creating these characters, learning the runs, getting the correct equipment and skills, farming the consumables, testing, etc. will have been wasted. Sure, I can use the characters for other things but their primary purpose is gone and certainly all the time learning and perfecting is wasted now.

Like I stated, my intent was not to convince you or change anything. But hopefully now you understand the position of a significant (I wont say majority because I don't know the numbers) number of GW players. Silence 07:58, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
