For human players, it is cumbersome to directly target minions for spells like Death Nova or to directly target spirits for spells like Gaze of Fury or Spirit to Flesh. Or for healers to protect and heal creatures summoned from stones.
I want a generalized solution for targeting allied summoned creatures. Essentially, they are all the same.
One of the problems is probably the ever-changing nature of spirits and minions. They are created and removed constantly, so the list permanently changes.
My suggestion:
- there are short-life summons (Ebon-Vanguard-Assassin and Asura summons), they will not appear on any list.
- there are medium-life summons (Spirits, Minions)
- there are long-life summons (from summoning stones)
- As soon as someone gains control of a medium- or long-life summon, add an expander to his party window entry.
- Clicking on the expander opens a list of the summoned creatures this particular party member currently has control of.
- The list is integrated into the party window or is an additional list. On top is the long-life summons, below the medium-life. First spirits, and below minions.
- if a long-life summon dies, it is removed from the list.
- if a medium-life summon dies, the entry remains and is re-used by the next summon of the same kind.
- if an additional summon is created, the list is dynamically expanded.
- this way, the list grows until a minion master had had his maximum number of minions or a spirit spammer had had his maximum number of spirits. Then the list size is somewhat constant and the list itself is only updated with the currently alive summons. Entries for currently dead summons are greyed out as usual.
- you also have the option to look at and target the summons of other party members.
