Feedback:User/Sollinton/Mesmer Illusions in PvE

This has been suggested multiple times on various forums, but I have yet to see it suggested on this wiki.

In PvE I feel Mesmers lose a large amount of their Illusion mechanic due to illusions dying when their target dies. I can understand why this is place for PvP battles, but in PvE I feel it needlessly detracts from the fun of Mesmers.

The heart of the issue lies in the fact that (especially during events) many enemies in PvE die quickly, but you are often faced with multiple enemies at a time. The fact that Illusions die when their target dies, combined with both the speed at which enemies die and the sometimes rather large cooldowns of summoning Illusions renders them almost useless. During many Dynamic Events in which players are confronted with large numbers of fairly weak enemies Mesmers lose their biggest (and to many people) funnest mechanic. This is especially true in builds that rely on keeping Phantasms alive for a while before shattering.

A solution to this (I don't know how easy it would be to implement) would be to allow Illusions to persist until combat ends in PvE while keeping their current functionality unchanged in PvP. This way Mesmers get a very nice PvE buff without making them feel overpowered in PvP.
