Everlasting Summoning Stones of Brief Duration[edit]

Add a new type of Summoning Stone that never gets used up. To ensure balance, Summoning Sickness applies and the summoned creatures do not last as long.

Background[edit]

People tend to use summoning stones all the time (if they farm UW and have too many to count) or never. Stones are just valuable enough that no one wants to trade them for low prices but also not useful enough to be worth spending serious gold on. As a consequence, there are stacks and stacks of unused stones floating around (or others that get deleted). Many people also feel that stones are too valuable to waste unless the party is at risk.

To address the under-use of stones, I propose a stone that has infinite re-uses, making it always worthwhile to use at some point during a quest or mission. However, the stone's duration will be reduced to a narrow time span, making it invaluable for a tricky spot, but not available as a permanent ally unless 12 party members each carry one.
