Hero formation presets[edit]
Add a button the party window that toggles the hero-flags into a choice of 3 preset formations.
- In flag mode, left-click the "cancel flags" to cancel flags, but right-click to toggle formation mode.
- In formation mode, you have 3 preset formations in place of the flags: left-click to arrange heroes to the formation, right-click to change the preset. The cancel flag button becomes a move in formation vs flag to formation toggle. Right-click to change to flag mode.
Among the many possible formations:
- Ordered presets
These formations are based on the order of the heroes in the party window.
- Wedge, player is at apex of a triangle with heroes 2-3 just behind and the remainder as a backline several steps behind.
- Follow-the-leader: player is at the lead of a conga line, with heroes following in order (2-8).
- Loose: heroes keep apart from each other and player.
- Close: current default.
- Intelligent presets
These formations are based on the hero professions and/or their kit.
- Traditional: martials forward, monks in back, others nearby.
- Health-based: highest health forward, lowest health in back.
- More complicated ideas
- Custom formation: allow player to set some of the following parameters (either by toggling options on/off or by arranging flags in an formation-option window).
