Rebalance Digital Deluxe Rewards[edit]

Changes to the game based on player feedback have made some of the rewards from the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game much less valuable. These rewards should be rebalanced to fit the current game and the 33% premium that DDE owners paid.

In GW1, most special edition rewards had unlimited uses and had some value to characters throughout their career. Even a maxed out toon could use an extra weapon for one of their heroes or a shield when starting out. In contrast, of the five DDE rewards, only one (the skill) is available more than once and it has limited utility at best. Two of the rewards can only be used once; one has unlimited uses, but expires quickly. Only the mini has much value past the player's first week in the game.

Summon Mistfire Wolf[edit]

  • Original description: "This unique elite skill allows the player to summon a temporary Mistfire Wolf pet for use in combat."
  • Issue: Elite skills aren't available until a character is Level 30. By that time, there are plenty of other profession-specific skills available that will be a better fit with the overall build.
  • Suggested direction of change: Downgrade this to a 3-point, middle tier "slot" skill. Reduce the functionality to balance it.
There's vague utility for it.
Current evaluation = Used to help defeat Liadri and for farming Gauntlet Chances.!

Miniature Rytlock[edit]

  • Original description: "This rare mini is a perfect replica of Rytlock Brimstone and will accompany your character on all of their adventures throughout Tyria."
  • Issue: None.

Golem Banker[edit]

  • Original description: "The Golem Banker provides unlimited access to your account storage from anywhere in-game for five consecutive days. The five-day period begins when you first use the Golem Banker. During the five-day period, you can use the Golem Banker's service as many times as you'd like."
  • Issue: This has almost no value given recent changes: you have access to the trading post and can deposit collectibles at any time. The time limit means people will either feel they wasted it by using it too soon or hording for so long that it becomes useless.
  • Recommendation: Change the functionality to summoning a Asuran Butler Golem for five minutes, but offer five uses (as opposed to unlimited uses for only five days).

Turns out to be very useful.
Current evaluation = Very useful for key farming in GW2. !

Chalice of Glory[edit]

  • Original description: "Earn some extra Glory with this one-time use chalice. Use Glory to unlock rewards in PvP as well as compare your progress against other players."
  • Issue: It really depends on how much Glory is unlocked. If it's too little, you would be better offering the player Gems that they can use to purchase a different reward.
  • Suggested direction of change: Ensure that this is enough to unlock something worthwhile.
Served its purpose
Current evalution = No more glory and allowed a few PvE-only players to pick up some skins. !

Tome of Influence[edit]

  • Original description: "Give your guild a one-time boost of Influence. Useful for unlocking guild vaults, emblems, and other items for your guild."
  • Issue: It really depends on how much Influence is unlocked. If it's too little, you would be better offering the player Gems that they can use to purchase a different reward.
  • Suggested direction of change: Ensure that this is enough to unlock something worthwhile. The first research tier in each category costs 500 Influence, so anything less will feel insubstantial.
Served its purpose.
Current evaluation = Still a lackluster reward, but whachagonna do? !
