Due to the minimal amount of skills per profession, we thought it would be a good idea to have different weapon skill-set types.

Instead of every mace, every sword, every great-sword having the same set of skills; with customization and rewards, one could be able to have a different set of skills to choose from.

If one voyages on an insane battle against a vicious spider, and wins. The player receives an enchanted bow that has 5 magical attacks which is limited to 100 uses or permanent use. Or the reward from the spider gives the player a much stronger weapon which improves his/her already equipped skills. Maybe from a regular longbow to a venomous bow, with increased damaged and stronger/better weapon skills. It would not be beneficial if the skills changed to something that were not useful.

Another idea for the weapon set skills is to be able to change them via crafting. By combining certain random ingredients, a player is able to craft a weapon with a certain set of weapon skills. If one uses fire ashes on their bow, with strings and a bow, they could create a bow that shoots fire with certain skills. (Very different from a bow with fiery bow strings) Every player should be able to be different in Guild Wars 2, nobody should ever say, "Ahh that's nothing new." When players show that they have different skills from them, they are going to pursue, and once they pursue there is a great demand.

--Xadus 12:38, 9 June 2012 (UTC) *Update* Recently was playing as my Ranger and noticed something that was changed from last beta to this new one June 8th-10th. The weapon skill bar for my great-sword was changed. It was perfect the way it was before. Is there any way to re-arrange them so that I can have skill #3 be as skill #2?

Also, a great suggestion, is the idea of unlocking more "weapon skills" with "certain" training methods. Maybe one could complete a quest to unlock another weapon skill, along with a total of 5 of these quests in every Race Area.

In example, if one travels with their Ranger to the human area, and does all 5 quests there, then they have an additional 5 weapon skills. If they travel to the Land of the Asura, they can complete all 5 quests there and will ultimately also have another 5 weapon skills to choose from. So that theere is a balance and yet diversity, one character is limited to 25 quests only and cannot do them again. 5 quests in every "Racial Area." In theory, if one wants all 25 weapon skills to choose from on one weapon this could be an option, or they can put 5 new skills on 5 different weapons. If the 5 weapons have 10 skills to choose from, there is still the maximum amount you can use on the skill bar which is 5. Just a thought
