Guild Management[edit]

I have already read that in GW2, players will be able to join multiple guilds with same account. On the other side, I want to address how guilds will be able to stand the test of time. If we have people but they are somewhere else...Aint this the same as inactive members?

Anybody is free to reply. Also anybody can be Guild Leader. But I would like to receive comments from other strong guild leaders whos clans are successful: active, goal achievers, friendly and responsible. Please besides signing your comments with the 4 tildes, I would like to ask you also add the link to your guild's page. So that we can keep this talk in a serious level without interruption of attention seekers.

I expect that at the release of GW2 recruiting should be relatively easy, but also by the course of time we will face the same difficulties as currently in GW1. Cases such as guild "spikers", "hoopers", "trollers" and "spies". These are some troubles that have affected guilds over the years and its resolutions always laid on the nerves of the administration capacity of officers and leaders. I am writting this suggestion so that we as guild managers can gain more tools to keep a guild alive, active, organised, friendly and secure.

  • Spiker: Player who has been promoted by either an officer or the leader, and then destroys the guild by kicking all members.
  • Hooper: Player who leaves one guild and joins another guild in the same alliance.
  • Trollers: Player who joins a guild to intentionally cause fights.
  • Spies: Player who was sent by another guild and quietly joined yours to read internal chat, find information such as members capacity, list of members, officer names, etc.

I think we (leaders) need more information that can help us keep administration roles as easiest as possible. I have myself spent half of my gaming hours just to deal with guild management in website/forum maintenance, guild wiki page updates and internal debates You know that it can even consume a whole day of play and when you realised its already midnight (!). I am not asking for leaders to have a punishment option as most people usually claim. For instance, in cases of guild spikes: many alliance members do suggest ANet disabling their accounts. But revenge should not be the way, I dont want to show such attitude or behaviour as my image (of myself or as the leader).

I am currently thinking of expanding the player profile we can read at the roster. At the moment we are provided with very little information: Recruitment name and date plus offline time since last login. If the game were to expand the information that provides to us, I would like to suggest:

  • A Historial of the past three guilds player has been in with full name and tag plus the time that gamer was there.
  • A Reputation Marking such us Guru Auction traders with 5 stars or any measurement system also noting by whom was given.
  • The addition of a Penalty such as "Dishonorable" (PvP) in case that player has been kicked repeatdly with a side note of the reason. Which could be a scrolldown list option including (inactive/inappropiate behaviour/inappropiate language/guild disbandment, etc.)
