General Idea[edit]
I like the idea of no dedicated healer in Guild Wars 2. But I also liked the Monk profession.
My idea for a Monk focuses more on making the Monk a melee-martial-arts based class, with focus on Support and Control.To facilitate the martial arts based combat, I'm proposing one new weapon - a fist-weapon (referred to here as Hand Wrappings)
Alternative Names[edit]
The name 'Monk' may be too closely associated with a dedicated healer in the eyes of many MMO players. Here's a list of alternative name suggestions:

- Profession Name: Monk (alternatives above)
- Brief: A melee, martial-arts oriented profession, with focus on control, conditions and support
- Armor Class: Light
- Special Mechanic: Different Combat styles :
- F1 Quick Combat Style - Thematic names: Serpent Style, Dragonfly Style
- F2 Focused Combat Style - Thematic names: Falcon Style, Hunter Style
- F3 Defensive Combat Style - Thematic names: Armadillo Style, Bear Style
- Weapons:
- Hand Wrappings (new weapon) (main + offhand)
- F1: Skills would cause less damage, but slightly faster recharge
- 1. Repeatable Quick Strike that causes more damage for every 3 hits.
- 2. A rapid multi-strike that causes Confusion
- 3. A quick headpunch that causes Daze.
- 4. A skill that applies Retaliation to the Monk
- 5. A quick attack that applies Quickness to the Monk
- F2: Skills focus on damage, slower recharge
- 1. Repeatable Focused Strike that causes Vulnerability every 3rd hit.
