Feedback talk:User/Aspie/Choice of the language
Uhm.. in Guild Wars 1 you can both change language and voices to different languages. Ofcourse you can't expect them to do every language. However you said you don't think it'll be hard to do I think youre making a small mistake there: 1. First of all there are ALOT of languages in this world. That'll mean alot of translating of every little word. 2. They'll need to hire ALOT of staff for this, and it'll make the production and budget expensiver, perhaps it'll mean less game content. 3. This is going to mean aaaaaaaalot of beta tests for every language to make sure there are no bugs! They didn't even fix all language bugs in the original game. It's not a bad idea, but I don't think its anything Anet should focus on for now.--Kilaa1000 21:23, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Guild Wars 2 is, at release, officially supporting English, French and German languages (voice and text) and written Spanish as a later addition. Naturally, as it was stated in several interviews and shown in the game interface, you can change separately the current displayed language and subtitles in the game options panel on the fly or before starting the game.
- As for the quality of the translations, back in 2010, players could already play the whole content of the demos in an excellent german or french. For having discussed, during those events, with some of the devs responsible for the translation process (ANet's Brighton studio in UK noticeably), I can tell you that it is really not an out-sourced afterby product but really a legitimate part of this game development (included with the internal and external QA testing). -- Leonim [talk·contribs] 10:12, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Suggestion : Conserving the ability to choose language form the start screen[edit]
At the moment, the language settings in the Options are not available at the start screen (only video and sound). It would be useful to have access to this panel as well, and before login and "starting" to play (same as DVD, other medias or even device like phones, cameras or printers).
Providing the interface based on geolocalization is a nice touch but should be modifiable by the customer/user for one's comfort and personal preferences. -- Leonim [talk·contribs] 19:28, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
