Con's of entire rework[edit]
I'm sure there are some. But idk what they would be. Suggestions? --Briar 10:17, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- I personally don't see the reason you'd create weapons of millions.Guildwars has the added advantage its just skill. The only disadvantage I can think of is everyone starting to cry cause they feel like they aren't awesome anymore.Basically I fear its way to late for this but if this was a new game : add it.Overall good idea and nice examples.Yeah, no, Yeah. General Discussion[edit]
I like the idea of points, and perhaps having those points used to claim an item from an end-chest like at the end of campaigns, but I don't like the idea of tokens, only because it's another item we need to stuff into storage or on a character somewhere.
I don't believe we really need to worry about prestige. The gap between "newb" and "mega-awesome" is so vast in terms of wealth and such. If it brings down the "rarity" or whatever of an item, so what. The rich will still be rich and those are the only people i can possibly think of that would be bothered by a drop in prestige. And if items no longer signify that you're skilled at an area due to it's rarity, then groups won't be as inclined to demand to see it before accepting you.
Basically I think the idea is cool. In fact, this could be another "faction" bar like Balthazar of Luxon/Kurzick where you do stuff to accumulate points for claiming an item out of the chest.
I don't know, I definitely think some items need to be customized though. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 21:36, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- I'm actually really tired right now so thinking isn't going so well, lol Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 21:37, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- Faction is a great idea. I think ill include that somewhere in there. Thanks! =D --Briar Flame Me 21:38, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- The issue however would be whether or not dungeons should have specific point systems, and if so, would it be viable to have a million bars just for elite area points. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 22:22, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- You'd also probably need to restrict fallback/incoming as well. Otherwise you'll get teams who just run 3 /P and run past everything--TahiriVeila 22:29, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- O.o That has nothing to do with this discussion. Maybe on the other suggestion. But not here. And i dont favor the individual reward system idea. But it does have its own advantages so i had to list it. --Briar Flame Me 22:32, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- Ups wrong post. My b.--TahiriVeila 22:33, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- This is very similar to this suggestion. But I supported that one, so I am fully behind this one as well. I have been playing actively for almost 5 years and haven't gotten a single item that's worth a damn. I would like to be able to get the items I want without having to rely on pure luck, and watching other people who haven't even played a year get those very same items without even trying. --Musha 00:45, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- True-ness. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 02:18, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- I can definitely see merit in options to cut down on inventory space fillers, especially in seeing improvements to elimination of the random drop 'un'reward system of dungeons. I imagine it would be incredibly easy to just implement something like you're mentioning in a way that's similar to Hero skill points, just let them all accumulate into a single variable viewable from any of the exchange npcs. LolDiscussionPages[edit]
- I have always hated the concept that the chest at the end of a dungeon should offer a random reward not to mention that fact that most of the items on the list are useless junk that have no place being in the dungeon in the first place. I have felted "Burned" on 90% of any dungeaon/Elite area that I have done! I just remember spending 6 or 7 hours running the underworld for the 3rd time in a night and to finally get a group of people together that could actually beat it and what did I get out of the chest.....a gold hand axe! Why this skin is even in the game I dont know...cause it is very ugly... but this is not the type of reward one should get for being in the underworld!! I should get (If it Absolutely has to be random?) a random drop of underworld styled items! I should never get a common low level gold equivelant from an elite area! The drops should be way more predictable out of these chests...maybe even in order of how many times you beat it ( 1st time beat = 1st item off of the list of possible drops from that chest). As for the items losing value in trade....well all I can say is that would be a wonderful thing!!! People ruin the game with their greedy trading practices and If I could count on getting a certain item from a certain area with a certain amount of known or reasonably approximated effort then I would chose playing the game over getting ripped off anyday!!
