Feedback talk:User/Dukeswe/Anti-hacking suggestion for Guild wars 2
I agree with this but I dont know the ip adress of my cousins for when I travel from europe to canada or when I am at a m8s house
- What about people with dynamic ip's? Or people who just want to pay and play. It should be left simple. If you use a complex password and change it every month and don't download virus-infested porn, you are pretty much safe. This would be an unnecessary precaution. I like the idea of having a trusted IP list. Still I think talented hackers will be able to mimic your IP addresses in some way but I'm sure they will have a hell of a hard time cracking this method. (I'm not a programmer -- I just hoping as a zero experienced programmer that this will work)
I took the liberty to paste my edited version of your suggestion to see if we're on the similar mind-road here.
Protect your account with IP security[edit]
For a start, I think the secondary login should be an optional choice.
