I think you meant:

Aging characters I think the characters

  • should grow older. So the look and skill should change/grow with the age of the character.
  • should have grain(?) when they die and mark the character on his way.

Also the skills should have effect to the look of the character.

Example:

Magic - glowing eys power - muscle agility - aura at hands so you can see the strength of a character without looking at his class and level.

I also think it's a great idea but with some flaws ^^ --Dragon7 cape emblem.pngThe Holy Dragons 17:34, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

lol, Neil your spelling controle XD --Dragon7 cape emblem.pngThe Holy Dragons 19:04, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Sry, my main language isn't english, so i have to use a dictionary for special words (for normal words - i do my best^^ ).

With grain i mean: german="Narben" (emboss, grain, scar, cicatrice) Which flaws do you mean? Mean more detail in my idea or better english?// GranatenEi 14:35, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

NO, I do not want my characters to age. End of story.--Will Greyhawk 07:46, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't like aging (wrinkles, saggy skin). you should change the name since its missleading. And if you ever want to make another suggestion in better english, try translate.google.com it works wonders. Also, try and elaborate more on ideas. muscle wouldnt be a good idea because super buff warriors could actually promote steroid use (Oh damn, my character is so smexy, i bet he uses steroids *goes on and shoots for his arm*) But im kidding, muscle should be determined on class, not by aging. And glowing eyes is too limited as to how many varieties could come about (color, shape of glow *diamond, square circle etc*). Aura in the hands is meh. Mabye a short trail of light would be a better resemblence to agility, but the variety limit, again, is short. --Eclipse143 00:51, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Slight modification on the Aging Concept[edit]

Some people want characters to age; others don't.

There are two options to consider on this topic.

1.) Allow player to choose how fast the character should age at character creation. It would be another slider that gives the option on how fast the character should age including the option of no aging at all.

2.) I think the debate on aging comes down to let the player create characters of different age rather than letting a character age. When characters age, certain characteristics change. For humans the more obvious characteristics are as followed: the skin becomes more wrinkly, hair may become less and may change color, furthermore, the body posture may change. Perhaps it is sufficient to either add these options to the character creation process. I personally had a cool image in mind - an option so to speak.

After the general look of a character has been established, a player may further customize a character by adding or subtracting X virtual years. Adding or subtracting virtual years will morph the above characteristics.

I agree with most of[edit]

I can understand that not everyone wants to see his character aging (and maybe at some point die of old age). With aging I originally thought not aging like in real life (with wrinkled skin and all that), but rather an evolution of character in the game. If aging happens like in real life, surely there must be a possibility to be young again. The idea from Thalanor Thornhale I like quite well. However, I would not make available if a character is aging or not (all or none). I could imagine that the player can pretend to self-determined limits.

It could be like this:

You create a character and can already see how it will look like at the end (There is an upper limit for age). But starting with a younger character. After a certain time you reach the final age of character. (I like the idea of morphing from young to old in the preparation). In human time equivalents could the years 15-25 be adopted. In this way, you can see whether a character is played only very short or quite some time, and therefore whether this character is rather strong or weak.
Also worth considering would be that the aging is to take place over a certain time or on the level, which again more conclusions could be taken on the strength of character.

I herewith also tried translate.google.com. Hope it is now easier to read :) GranatenEi 16:36, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Late reply, but whattever:
-"OMFG!! ...my character died just before I got 'God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals Again'!! This game sucks!"
Pretty sure no one would want something like that. ;) - Ander01 06:28, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
