Killing would be fine, but if it is ENTIRLY accross the area, and thousands of monsters, and you are short on time, I'd prefer some faster mean of transportation. Also I didn't say remove combat from these mounts. They could give special attribute bonuses.--I Sasuke Uhchicha I 00:07, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

in the previous GW2 suggestions i suggested that the races get different mounts - I decided on these
  • Charr - Charr Hunter Beast - need I say more?
  • Asura - Clockwork animals - Cool or what? mabe add in hissing joints when they move (Don't have to if you want A-Net staff if it causes lag just leave it out and add in big clunking noises XD)
  • Norn - After the fall of the dwarves they fled in terror at the sight of Drakkar the Mighty Ice Dragon - once they reached a safe haven they saw some Dolyak roaming free and tamed them, they remained loyal to the Big-Hearted Giants ever since.
  • Sylvari - Some giant Jungle Panther would be cool to ride
  • Humans - Humans, being boring, deserve the plain horse

How about:

Excuse me, but where did you hear that map travel was going to be in GW2? From what I heard, asuran gates would be it. Also, I think mounts are a great idea, see here. Also, as they showed in the release of "environmental weapons", mounts could give the player a new set of skills, similarly to junnundu and siege devourers. If you were to mount a dragon, for example, you could have a skill for breathing fire, a skill for sprinting, etc etc. If you were on a horse, you could have a kick skill, and a sprint skill. In this way, mounts are just interactable objects. Howver, they could also be like pets, in that you could own several, and choose one to bring with you while out fighting. You could also, in turn, make it function like a pet, with commands on your interface, w/ modes and simple commands, like sprint, attack, or flee, and still be able to use your skills while on the mount. instead of mounts, have a skill that will alow you to temporerily (as in until you enter a town or outpost) capture a creature, so you still need skill to be able to get it, instead of buying it, and you will get a new set of skills based on which creature you capture, and there will always be the chance that the skill will fail based on your level and the level of the creature, so you can only capture lower level creatures and the lower the level, the more of a chance of success, but the creature will

be weaker, none of you can say thats like WoW and you cant say it wouldnt be fun to
control your enemies. btw to make it clear this will not be a mount, it will be more like mind controll so your charactar will be open for attack

As noted in one of "Knighthonor's" trademark WoW wannabe suggestions: "Mounts? Are you kidding? We didn't have them in GW1 for a reason. What would be the point? Mounts are designed to make players look like pompous fools while only sometimes offering movement speed bonuses. Map travel, portals, or running skills, either way travel is going to be easier than running from one end of the world to the other, provided you've been there before. Even if you haven't, I'm sure there will be plenty of runners to get you where you need to go. Another WoW suggestion torn to pieces in a place it didn't belong."
