Besides playing characters' names, they should expand the number of currently available glyphs in their fonts and try to upgrade the spell-checkers used by the translators for all in game texts as well.
The French spelling is already as bad as it is with missing capital letters with accents or cedilla (EEEACU are used instead of ÉÈÊÀÇ, the only accented capital that appear in game so far being Ô) and character that do not show up in the latest Nicholas and HoH/GvG mercenaries dialog (œ not showing in recent text and oe used in older text instead). I would have to agree with this Jaxom. I think they should expand it as well. --I Sasuke Uhchicha I 20:13, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Yes, this needs to go. As well as the 19 character name requirement that requires a space and no numbers. And pet name length is even shorter. 64.222.106.112 20:32, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

I personally like the naming limitations in GW1. It prevents character names such as "xXx RaNGer^34 | [BKE] lol". I know that's an extreme example, but imagine similar names showing up around you. Again, that's just my personal opinion. Either way, I would like to see the ability to PM people without having to type out their names. (Names using foreign characters might be impossible to type out.) Clicking on their name is only an option if they speak. --Arngrim 06:53, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
This was not about character names but about on screen text in quest, etc. Reading French text in Guild Wars sometimes hurt your eyes because of bad spelling.
On the other as you told yourslef, it's impossible for us to retype chineese, corean or japaneese player names... Jaxom 08:54, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

i would like to have letters from other languages as well. talking to someone with a name using odd letters could be done either by replying (click on his name in the chat window) or by clicking on his char and use a right mouse button menu -> talk to.(Tamora 18:43, 30 August 2010 (UTC))
