I agree. Many mmo's that incorporate pistols in combat, the repetitive firing soon becomes irritating. I hope the developers agree and will allow for specific in game volume control of certain effects like the gun or rifle, and/or create within the game a "silencer" crafted by players. 72.235.248.250 13:05, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Also regarding sound volume in this [1] clip, the 2 beams make too much noise and you can't even hear the bosses speak. -- Zayeban 10:35, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
A crafted silencer does not make much sense in a world like that of GW2. I would rather see a sound option to reduce volume of guns. As much as it might be a great sound if you listen to it for 5 minutes, if you play with it for hours it can really drive you insane. Beetlejuice 12:43, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
The gunshots and how annoying they may be is subjective. However, they aren't "unrealistic" as you say. Old firearms, the flintlock and the matchlock black powder guns are known to have been much louder then their more modern counterparts.--Will Greyhawk 02:16, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
I think the sound is realistic enough, it's going to be fun to run towards gunfire. I have to agree it should have a seperate sound control or a smaller ratio when compared with other skill sounds. One thing I really enjoyed about GW1 and hope to see continue is the sound association/recognition with skills. Helyanwe 21:05, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
