Feedback talk:User/Ilr/Ranger: Pet Integration

From Guild Wars Wiki

Imo all that's needed are pet stances. Aggressive = attack closest if inactive, but what ranger attacks otherwise (PvP generally). Normal = attack only what ranger attacks (PvE generally). Defensive = run to owner and switch to normal when they get close. Greep 17:50, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

They already had that in GW1. And it wasn't enough. Moreover, it was even more Fail in the Gw2 demos b/c combat requires much more positioning effort. --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 20:41, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Special pet abilities[edit]

Wee i love lore, so I just came up with some possiblities.

  • Kormir's Truth/Spirit: Your pet's attacks neither hit or miss, but deals absolute damage.
  • Balthazar's Challenge: Your pet gains Might, Swiftness and Protection.
  • Dwayna's Aura: Your pet gains Regeneration and Vigor.

Also, we wouldn't want to make the ranger itself better, but more so the pet. And we wouldn't want to keep these pet abilities specific to races.. so we have to include all the other races' customs, beliefs, etc. And because of this, the pet abilities should be racial and similar so that they are more balanced.

  • Bear spirit: Your pet gains the Vigor and Might of the Bear.
  • Raven spirit: Your pet gains the Swiftness and and Stealth of the Raven.
  • Snow leapard spirit: Your pet inflicts Weakness and Vulnerability with its attacks.
  • Wolf spirit: Your pet gains Fury and has a <low number goes here>% to inflict bleeding.

And Idk the rest. Also, I was thinking of the devs implementing a hotkey that whenever you click somewhere your pet can go while holding down that hotkey, your pet moves there. A simple macro/micro movement based on starcraft.--Eclipse143 21:53, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
