Meh, In GW2 with the personalized storyline I think this would actually be quite stupid. Of course a family name system would be helping, and fun to have. Your account will have your family name you came up with and your first name will still be different. And otherwise it seems a silly idea since alot of people will have similar names anyway. And a system that allows the same name for multiple characters is entirely differently coded than one without that option. I think it might give alot of troubles even to give something two different things the same name. So meh I dunno it doesn't seem to add anything to the game if you ask me. My thoughts about this idea

I don't really like it. Let me tell you why, I don't want my male and female characters to have the same name. But since it would be optional I don't have problems with it :). Qaletaqa Hania 00:46, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

A better suggestion is to allow the ability to create a new character that shares the name of another character on that account. It shouldn't be "all characters or none at all". --69.230.117.74 01:20, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
