I like it, but a system of saving a pet is already there 'The Zaishen Menagerie' as soon as you can reach the capital of your continent (Lions Arch, Kaineng Center and Kamadan). It would also be beter if you could command to your pet like use that skill, in an additional skill bar like the Elementalist has the attunements additional so you should be able to cammand your pet but the pet can use skills on its own. Oh yeah, i forgot about the Menagerie. Im not quite sure what you mean about the elementalists attunement thing. They dont get another skill bar for it, it changes the skills they currently have equipped when they switch attunement, i think... may have to read the ele's page again, but if by "in an additional skill bar" you mean something like heroes have now, then i already mentioned that. The pets have their own attack skills in a bar that can be shown/hidden by clicking the symbol next to their name in the party window. This bar has their health, energy, aggresiveness options and attack skills and you can click on the attack skills here to activate them if you choose. Thanks for your input though :) --83.67.86.24 16:27, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

A good way to balance the game, would be to have like an effect called "Pet", which makes you deal 25% damage. If this is still not enough, it could be a maintained enchantment, taking away one third of your energy upkeep. A third option would be like having Charm Animal, taking the place of your selfheal-spot.--Syncretic 16:15, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Yeah these all sound like good ideas, but i think the best would be the last one, but maybe comfort animal over charm animal. Assuming it works the same way it does now... and assuming it makes a return :P. The first one sounds a bit too much of a cost to having a pet, maybe if it was that you do 66% damage while you have your pet out it would be a bit better. Or maybe even stronger/higher tier pets incur a larger damage penalty, the first/lowest tier ones you can get might give you a 10-20% damage reduction, but the highest tier pet would give a 50% damage reduction. I dunno, but if my suggestion is taken on board and used it could esaily be made overpowered and make the "ranger" or whatever better than other classes. I really do like the charm/comfort animal idea of yours though, mind if i add it to my suggestion? --83.67.86.24 16:27, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Pets in Gw2[edit]

It seems the majority of your ideas were used anyways, as in the recent blogpost they described how pets function. Pets have their own skillbar, health, energy, and UI panel. Pets are always with a ranger, no skill needed, and the ranger can have 3 pets charmed at once with 1 active at any time. Pets level up to the level of the hunter, and stats (if they are there) are automatically set. Pets gain evolutionary levels, 20 total, through earning experiences with its master. Every 5 levels it will gain another skill slot (Im assuming) ending at 4. Pets have skills unique to their pet class (bird, canine, feline, ursan...). Nothing about exotic pets was mentioned.--Neithan DiniemUser Talk:Neithan Diniem 19:43, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

I like this idea very much and think it will be in the game since I read somewhere they will have their own skills. I also have a suggestion myself: It would be awesome if the pets have different forms and that when they level up they get noticably bigger. Lets take it you charmed a phoenix from factions and when it levels up you get a majestic beast like the elder rainbow phoenix or whatsitcalled... you guys know what I mean right :) Prince Grazel 18:56, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
