Anet has stated before that they are in no way resposible for mods like that. Also, they created the game in one way, not to have other people mod it. Though I like your idea, I do not think this is something Anet should work on. ~ Sanna 01:12, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- You misunderstand. I am not asking for them to take responsibility, or that they should. I am simply saying that such a feature would be a good integration idea. Many users already use Texmod, and while it is not officially supported, it is allowed. I'm suggesting that they simply look for textures in a Mods sub-folder, and apply them instead of the original.

- They would basically have to reprogram the entire way the .dat file works, not to mention how the game updates, and then Support would get flooded with a bunch of e-mails from people who broke their game trying to mod it, and Support has to tell them all to uninstall, then reinstall everything. While this would be very cool -- I remember how much fun modding and using mods in Oblivion was -- it's just not a feasible project. —Jette 02:17, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

- Not true at all. The dat would remain basically as is. It's a few settings, some checks before loading textures. It would require some extra finesse around that, a UI (Or even just command line arguments). Think party search, splitting up of chats, or even when they changed the look of the UI from the old to the new theme for complexity. Problems... Not really. Given absolutely no information on Texmod when it was first released, in a single file, with no support. Thousands of user have used it, with the only real support issue being "My anti-virus says it a virus!". Or questions, which are being posted here anyway.
