I agree profusely with this. I dont know my NCsoft account details, and cant retrieve them because of some bullshit about guildwars access keys (who the hell keeps hold of them once activated ffs?!). If they make an easy way to change e-mail adresses for GW1 and allow some option to link it to that upon GW2 account creation, i would find it incredibly useful. Especially since i am currently trying to fill up my HoM just cos i dont know what will get me what new content or w/e in GW2, and i would be pissed if all my effort goes un-recognised in GW2 simply because i dont have NCsoft account details. --Jimmer123 17:14, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I got hold of my master account simply by stating that I was worried about HoM theft. The way I understood it was that you somehow type a character name and once linked u get access to the HoM. Or, rather, you need the same master account (most likely). You can't change your login email (no need, it just logs in to GW), what you do need to change is the web mailing address. Also helpful to change the password to something easy to remember and WRITE IT DOWN. Maybe on a post-it or on a notepad file then in a safe USB drive (you can store other personal info too if u want in that) and put it in a box, in a secure location that you'll remember where it is. - Lucian Shadowborn 05:45, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- (who the hell keeps hold of them once activated ffs?!) Hello, I do! If everybody knows they are so important, then it's only stupid to not record that info in a safe place in case of emergency. I've also got the serial numbers for the free storage panel and extra characters. I suggest you do the same for the future. I have put my stuff on a USB drive for years, but really, have a backup incase it dies, and also, this is why the Windows Credential Manager exists (edit: on second look, it doesn't even show passwords you put into it).
