Replays in GW2, at least in the seamless part of GW2, are impossible. I could see where it might come in handy to have one for dungeons, though. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 02:28, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

I hope observer mode will be in GW2. It would be cool if they implemented it in PvE instances for the sake of inclusion, but I think it would be easier to just use your own video recording software (I use Camtasia, but ymmv). —Jette User Jette awesome.png 02:33, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
@Shard: Not impossible not even in the seamless part. Replays for the seamless part would show everything you can when you would turn 360° not the whole world, if it's correct that they are using the umbrasoft engine then the part that would be rendered by that engine would be recorded, wich is what the player can see, so they can even scrap the whole radius idea and just record what you can see and not allow any camera control in the replay. Anyway i'm gonna make a picture of what I mean. But i'm sure it is possible.
@Jette: I don't like using third party video capturing software while playing, it creates lag. talk Qaletaqa Hania 02:40, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Made the picture, I made the radius (actually the radius would be a dome since it is a 3d game) wich would be my suggestion of what should be recorded so that we can turn the camera the way we want when viewing the replay and I made a pie slice of what they could do wich is just record what the player can see at the time they would record. Anyway I think it's possible, but since I don't have access to the engine I can't know for sure, but no way that it is impossible. talk Qaletaqa Hania 03:12, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
No 3rd party capture, but integrate a simple form of replay into GvG Observer for Guild Wars 2. Now since current matches are observed by the entire community *with a 7-15 minute delay to prevent abuse*, I propose the GvG Replay only works for YOUR GUILD'S MATCHES, or the most recent match. It would make it so much easier in detail and efficient in time in training the new guilds, while top guilds can meticulously observe every moment to discover enemy behaviors, tactics, habits, as well as their own.--Malchior Devenholm 01:10, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
