Feedback talk:User/Ravious/Add'l Race DLC

Well, what would this DLC bring? a few quests? some skills? If you can't go far with a character, then why make it? Its like making a character, stopping midway, then making another character to surpass your first. And I'm not familiar with the lore about kodan, even with the recent blog, but what kind of "main adventure" would the kodan go through? or what's their primary enemy? This needs more thinking. --Eclipse143 08:16, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- The Kodan are kinda lame, really. And their back story isn't making me like them any more. And as the guy above me said, there doesn't seem to be much of a point to adding them. Also, WoW is not a good example of what should go into GW2.--Will Greyhawk 05:23, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- I have also considered this concept, however, although I would love to play as another race (specifically the Skritt and Tengu) its implication is not that easy, and your approach would not be the way I would like it to be. I should imagine it is safe to assume that personal stories will merge independent of race at a given point, thus only the story previous to this needs to be developed, One possible approach is not to produce individual starting cities for each race (although from many perspectives individual home cities may be better)instead start in Lions arch, we already know lions arch is an open city, also lore wise it may be difficult to explain why a whole race has joined the fight, but individuals acting independent of their race may have personal reasons for joining the fight is not so difficult to explain (based on question from character creation). I would however prefer races to be associated with expansions giving added content and not just a race, but giving the option to allow people to purchase a race and not a full expansion may also be possible, but explaining the addition of new races following the fall of Zhaitan makes more sense (Although I would hope the new race would still have access to the previous campaign)--Malaf Kahmuson 17:24, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- @Mafal: Why the skritt? They're.....rat people. I see a lot of people asking for obscure races to be included as playable, and I don't really get it. I suppose I can see the Tengu being a cool race, but I've also seen people ask for just about everything under the sun, from both GW and GW2. Most don't make sense to me.--Will Greyhawk 01:24, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- My wish for the Skritt is one of purely aesthetic reasoning, we obviously don't know enough about them lore wise to seriously consider them as of yet, I do however believe we are likely to see DLC races, it would be an excellent way for Anet to make an extra income and would provide more depth if implicated correctly (as I am sure A-net would do if they so wished). Adding lesser/obscure races doesn't have any Lore issues though in most cases, as seen in GoA where a Hylek (whose people as a whole are not united with Tyria against the Dragons) has joined the ranks of the Vigil, this thus gives the potential for nearly any race to be added.--Malaf Kahmuson 00:02, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
