dude, so many things wrong in this post...

First of all, Anet doesnt make the builds, players do! The only way Anet regulates builds is by nerfing key skills in them. And they dont want to do that every time someone comes up with a new build and breaks a skill. It would end up UNBALANCING the game.

Second, there was need for separation of "Health loss/gain" and "Damage/Healing" because some skills trigger off damage specifically, and wont trigger off health loss etc. And why was life stealing such a problem? It only makes the game unbalanced if there is a difficult/no way at all for someone to use life stealing. And why even bother making such a bitchy suggestion moaning about a f**king damage counter?

Last, i dont understand your problem with weapon spells, anthems/echoes/shouts and shadow steps. They all seem perfectly balanced mechanics to me. Admitedly shadow stepping can be irritating at most, but its nothing a reasonable player can't handle.

This to me sounds like you're to be whining about your misfortunes in PvP. If you dont like it, man up and learn to deal with the problems or dont play. Simple as.

Having said all this,if you wish to try and convince me otherwise please do. --Jimmer123 21:58, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

It's Anet's responsibility to make sure nothing can be broken when they release content, especially for pvp. The fact that there are still gimmick builds from 3-5 years ago in HA actually winning is a joke. The fact that there are people who have gotten rank 12 from IWAY and from using henchmen is a joke.

You have no idea what imbalance is. Life stealing was so powerful, some groups broke the game with it. It became literally impossible to deal with, and allowed those teams to win any gvg match and win halls every time.

Again, you have no idea what imbalance is. How do you counter weapon spells, shouts, chants, and shadow stepping? Oh yeah, you can't. No skill can remove the first three, and no skill can prevent the fourth one. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 00:02, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
It seems to me that you are the one with no idea what balance is, balance is not simply preventing someone from using their skills, its having something to throw back at them, The simplest method of course is to use your own weapon spells, shouts, you can also take skills like empathy to leave their weapons causing them to kill themselves. As far as shadow stepping, admittedly it is a little broken, in a perfect world, the counter to shadow stepping would be to have an interrupt or knockdown ready to strand them on your side of the field, without support while your team slaughters them. As far as gimmick builds? It is NOT anets job to nerf them, it is OUR job to be prepared for them, any well prepared party can shutdown a gimmick build and leave them on the ground with a "your party has been defeated" message. As for life stealing, yes it should count as taking damage, it should count as healing, and it should be armor ignoring. I have one last thing to say which is this: If you don't enjoy the game, DON'T PLAY. Have a nice day :)70.168.185.244 15:59, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
wtf, you CAN counter chants, shouts, shadow steps and weapon spells, just as much as jeg can counter healing. except a few skills (Soul Bind, Scourge Healing etc.) it's called interrupts and Visions of Regret! chants can be countered by Blackout and Visions of Regret and are not so different from healing, meaning they do not give you an advantage and does not cause imbalance. if you think that, you should really be complaining about monks, who are actually gonna be removed. and as for shouts, try looking up Vocal Minority, Well of Silence, Ulcerous Lungs, Cacophony and Roaring Winds.--Syncretic 13:07, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, saying you can counter life stealing/chants/weapon spells etc with some skills is like saying you can heal with mending. Technically you can... but not practically. The problem is that these playstyles dominated without any way of stopping them in a practical way. I agree with shard in every aspect, but from the looks of it gw2 is leaving this crap in gw1, so it's all good. Greep 20:48, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
