It's called "Guild Vs. Guild", not "Group Vs. Group". What you're explaining is Team Arenas, which Arena Net removed after it died. Kalizar

it's nothing like Team Arenas *rolls eyes* is HA the same too then? we allow pugs there. I'm not the only one who feels that removing the heroes wasn't the best idea in the world from GVG and even a half competent player will do better than a hero. I find it rather sad that though it could be easy to find a group and make it as organized or as disorganized as you want, and yet it's not being taken advantage of. you can always offer builds, require them to have TS or Vent, require them to have a certain rank, tell them what they are supposed to be doing, or do none of those things and then whine about how disorganized it is. When my Guild GVG's we always ask for our guild first, and branch out to our alliance. I'm just suggesting making this easier. Roflmaomgz 21:40, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
It's called Your F-List and Guesting. --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRIDDLE 21:42, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
well whatever, I don't see why this is such a bad idea, the worst that happens is that it remains unchanged, seeing as how you can already ask your guild to participate. I also wonder why we bother with the zaishen mercs when apparently they aren't needed at all. Roflmaomgz 02:38, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Great Temple of Balthazar was supposed to be a GVG pug outpost, but it was quickly overwhelmed by retarded pve players and gold-selling spambots who couldn't decide between spamadan and lion's arch. A similar place should be added in GW2 (and possibly GW1 is the balance ever comes back), with something to prevent all the trade spam. This feature isn't a bad idea, but I'm not sure how broad the searches would be. If 50000 people are online and you search for luxon, you're going to get thousands of listings. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 02:45, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

To add my $0.02, I think GvG is the only place where pugging shouldn't be allowed. It is, as the name implies, a battle of two guilds versus each other. Lore-wise, the usage of guests is not even very normal. The point of guild battles is to have guilds compete with one another, to gain spots on the guild ladder. If guilds would be pugged, then the ladder and the lore would have no value anymore whatsoever.

Also, consider that Heroes' Ascent and GvG are very similar, with the big difference being that Heroes' Ascent allows pugging, and does not require collaboration on the long term. Where HA is a competition on short term (up until you have been defeated and return to town), GvG requires consistent team play on the long terms (for a whole ladder season, for instance). If GvG could be pugged, this distinction would probably cease to exist, making GvG just another way to get a PvP title. -arnosluismans (talk) 13:11, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
