Feedback talk:User/Roq/Separate currency (or tokens) for WvW PvP

Not sure how to format on wikis so I apologize for my lack of formatting. This is an incredibly important thing and should be looked into by GW2 devs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oImNGXsqLF4

This video shows a march of the Golems performed by a guild during the beta weekends. The money was funded by gem to gold transfers.

This is very concerning as it would mean essentially servers that don't have a Daddy Warbucks on their server would be at a disadvantage. People can spend real money to upgrade keeps easily. Can spend real money to buy a plethora of different siege engines to take down any other opposition in their way, where as a team with out a Daddy Warbucks would have more of an issue acquiring the necessary funds to upgrade their keeps to withstand such an onslaught.

In short the separate token idea is great. You could even go as far as to have arrow carts and rams purchasable with money but the larger game changer siege engines be restricted to badges of honor or some other WvW only system.

As it is now, anyone who is willing to blow some money on the game can easily "Pay to Win" by having an army of siege golems as the video suggests is currently possible.

I don't have so much concern though as I know Anet is a good company. And if this does occur they will undoubtedly get a plethora of "omg this is overpowered!" and "Pay to win!" comments. Which will result in them eventually changing the system to prevent such tactics from occurring.

But preemptively giving a heads up for this eventual problem.

Again sorry for the formatting. If anyone is willing to fix it, or reuse the above to better articulate the problem in a more concise way. By all means. --DwarfJuggler 21:31, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
