Feedback talk:User/Shady Tradesman/Open Letter: Level-Scaling

Guild Wars isn't saying the enemies will scale based on level with you. You cant go and beat the game at level 1 as you can with Oblivion (Ive done it). the enemies scale based within their level, if your solo, the enemies wont be mob-tastic, but they will still slaughter you if you go in skippin' through the daisies and not paying attention. When your with a group, the enemies will have more powerful skills at their disposal (why would an enemy use a massive AoE vs one target? Thus why give it to them to start with until they need it?). That will make them more threatening to an individual, but still challenging to the group. The enemy's numbers will also scale to suit the number of players during events and the like. That allows a single person up to a mob of 50 players to all have the same difficulty level and immersiveness of combat without becoming boorish or predictable. Ive played (and am currently playing again right now) Oblivion, I know how busted and unrealistic it is (was, before the mods fixed it), but what Oblivion delivered is not what GW2 is saying their going to give you.--Neithan DiniemUser Talk:Neithan Diniem 22:19, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

I don't know about individual monsters, but events scale with number of people, not level. If it scaled to level, not only would there be no progression but loot from bosses, etc. would have to scale and it would just get ridiculous from there on out. --Thunderduck 23:35, 25 April (UTC)
