Feedback talk:User/Shai Halud/Z-Targeting

The ability to fire ranged weapons while moving is something that would be a nice addition. However, this z-targeting idea I don't think fits in with a PC MMORPG. I don't think the majority of people are going to be using a controller to play Guild Wars 2; they will be using a keyboard and mouse. In Guild Wars, there are already a lot of customizable commands available, including ones that let you scroll through enemies and one that lets you automatically select the nearest enemy.

The idea that this system will allow you to hit enemies without aiming is funny. You don't aim in Guild Wars; you select a target and attack. Also, blocks and counters are already in Guild Wars, so this would not be something that would need to be "added". FloppyJoe 01:50, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

You make me wish I had tear ducts.--Shai Halud 02:18, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Doesn't everyone have tear ducts? Anyway, I did not intend to sound mean. If I did, I apologize. I was just giving a simple critique of your suggestion, as I do with a lot of the suggestions I read on here. If adding z-targeting is something Anet wants to add to Guild Wars 2, as an option for people whom play with controllers, then more power to 'em. FloppyJoe 02:39, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
"This is assuming that the main form of interface for GW2 is with 12-button controllers." - That was the first line. I am not suggesting controllers, I am assuming that has already been decided on and this is a suggestion which comes after that. If that assumption is wrong then obviously this suggestion is invalid.--Shai Halud 07:17, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
GW2 will be a PC game, and the default input for PC games is ALWAYS keyboard + mouse (because that's what everybody has). ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 08:00, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
