I think the best way to do this is not as an open trade between games but players could maybe store items in the hall of monuments. maybe a new npc (monument keeper) could be made you look after the items in a special Xunlai chest which, once put in, can only be removed in GW2.

I do believe Guild Wars 2 is being created as a separate game, but they are allowing a few things to transfer via the Hall of Monuments, to include some form of continuity. Everyone will start with little to nothing, even with a full Hall of Monuments, so as to be fair to those that do not have a lot of items in the Hall of Monuments, or to those that Guild Wars 2 will be their first game in this series. Adding a way to transfer money from Guild Wars to this game would mess up the economy of the game. Adding an auction system to help with trades within Guild Wars 2 is a good idea, but I do not agree with adding a trading system between the games. Also, scammers are going to be in the game as long as people continue to fall for their lies. This is inevitable. If you get scammed, it is your own fault, so I doubt Anet will even help. Just my two cents. FloppyJoe 20:53, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

-And where's the scam? You pay more gold for alchohol or sweets in GW cause it will help you get a title in the HoM? Since there is no way you can get any items from GW to GW2 anyway there are no scams possible on that side. I just don't see how nót linking it would cause more scamming. I dó see, as FloppyJoe says, how linking it would reck the economy. In GW there are far more things known. How to farm easy for example. Getting the gold from GW to GW 2 would be very disadvantagous to new players who have only GW2.Nizab 18:29, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

I think his idea is that scammers will tell you they'll trade 100k in GW for some amount in GW 2. So, you give them 100k in GW, and go over to GW 2 waiting for the money they said they'd give you, but they aren't there. That's the scam. It's similar to trusting someone to sell you something in pre-searing using post-searing gold. Usually that kind of trade is done by giving them the money in post, and then switching characters to make the trade in pre-searing. I make these trades sometimes, but I am trustworthy. Not everyone is. FloppyJoe 05:21, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Personally I want GW2 to be a completely fresh start, so I don't support this :( Despite being able to fill most of the hall of monuments, I honestly don't want even that, although most HoM items are going to be out of vogue within a day anyways so its a moot point. Greep 17:17, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
