Tome traders have one advantage over skill trainers: They do not require skill points. That's why they may currently have demand. To compensate that they do not cost skill points and not making skill trainers unnecessary for those that have all skills unlocked, their minimum sell price would have to be increased over 1k, but then people would simply use the skill trainers, unless they are in a hurry for skills. Also, unlike dyes, upgrades, and materials, as a drop they are exclusive to hard mode and the Zaishen chest. They are a 'bonus' source of skills, not meant to be the main source. The main source are the skill trainers. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk

This would probably be the only npc trader whose prices would most likely just increase without ever decreasing. It's doubtful anyone would ever sell a skill tome, regardless of the price as they're always useful to a character except if they've already learned all of a profession's skills. While it's a time-consuming process, the Zaishen coin system of buying them does keep them at a set price and does accomplish a very similar function already. Seryu 21:24, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
i agree with adding one and with what MithranArkanere Star says. but i must say if they had a trader that used 2 or 3 skill points i dont think people would mind. because really no one should have problems with skill points i mean every quest gives you xp... also i feel its a waste to use zcoins on skill tomes i think a good middle ground would be if you could get normal tomes in normal mode from bosses.--User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 04:24, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

The obvious equivalent of (rare) material/scroll trader for tomes ![edit]

I am confident on such an addition for GW as it is a good replacement of the not-existing auction house for tomes. It could be like for scroll or dye trader : though there is always law of demand/supply, tome trader would never sell tomes under 500g and elite tome trader would never sell them under 5k. Of course, npc can always offer ridiculous price for tomes players give him, like 25g for assassin tomes. Elephant 15:51, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
