I honestly think when concrete beings turn into puffs of smoke or into a pile of dust it gives the game a bit of a childish feel to it... and Anet did a wonderful job in guild wars 1 how the djinn just seeped through the ground because they essentially were beings of energy and plasma, and when bone horrors, minions etc would disinegrate into the ground when they died. It would be appropiate for some creatures to poof into smoke or to be engulfed in fire... Perhaps the best and easiest solution to these type of special deaths would be to add one animation for a specific race and or tribe/religious community. By this i mean (lets say) the Kodan believe in ascending into Koda's Sanctuary (again, i don't know any of their lore) and when the Kodan die, their bodies slowly fade away and particals of light ascend. --Eclipse143 04:56, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

In the current state, the "concrete beings" do just pop into nirvana without any animation, they just disappear. No animation is destroying more of the atmosphere than a "childish" "puff of smoke". My intention was, that arenanet realizes that this case is important to the players - as you showed by giving other nice hints, how they could handle(respectively has handled in GW1)

From my point of view, it is irrelevant what the animation will look like (because I do have faith in their art-direction,to suit the universe) - mainpoint is that there will be an animation.--Steves 09:19, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

I agree that it turning into a puff of smoke or whatnot is childish, but I really really adore the idea of the flies and maggots and such, or the idea of skeleton hands rising up and dragging corpses into the earth. That would just be so neat! Unique too. Weindrasi 15:35, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Weindrasi
