False reporting[edit]

Also, add option to report misuse of report system. Leeching is for ppl that stand and don't do nothing right? last time i got multiple leaching reports from RA team just cause they didn't like my build and and i'm not pro in pVp, allthough i keep doing my best and i learn. i've head better players in team, and we've won, so this is not my fault we lost but i couldn't join next pvp round for a several minutes! ppl hate n00bs, but i hate idiots more than that! n00b has a chance to stop beeing a n00b, idiot will always be an idiot! --Ireth Tassartir 13:05, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

If you have a better idea of how to mitigate or prevent bullying, I know ANet would love to hear about it. This suggestion, however, is geared towards reducing the amount of effort players have to go through to present evidence of allegedly criminal actions (as opposed to simply unethical or immoral behavior).
PvP players are, alas, more likely to be elitistly hostile, which is unfortunate for a variety of reasons. You can use the current system to report griefing. Also, you should know that players making these type of false reports eventually get caught (after ANet investigates). It's unfortunate that, most of the time, that will be long after the player being bullied has had to wait for their time out to expire.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:36, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
I agree with the proposed change. Not only will this stop spam bots (to some extent) who go from district to district spamming, it will also help stop personal attacks from bullies and griefers who attack others through whispers. As for those who "misuse" the report system. Usually if you have a bad build, no one cares. But if you have a bad build for the sake of having a bad build, and you draw attention to it, then you do somewhat deserve to be reported. There is a difference between an honest mistake of a build and an intentionally bad build. Unfortunately, the former is sometimes reported. But, like I said, most of the time, the person is trying to have a bad build to make his team mad. FleshAndFaith 01:53, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
