Freapin' agreement[edit]
I have to agree with this idea. The current quest log is relatively basic, but has some annoying features such as: the minimized sections don't stay that way, you have to search for the one quest through all the others (fairly annoying at times)===> maybe a search function? - Thanks! Based on your note, I also added a search filter suggestion. (Collapsed sections remain collapsed throughout the current session, even if you change toons — can you describe what behavior you were hoping to see instead? Thanks.) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:12, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well like you suggested yourself, have it collapsed even when you change character, or even after logging out. Being able to reorganize the quests, for example, difficulty, type of reward, maybe even date of acquisition, quest giver, reward giver, area (not just kryta, but like giants basin or something more specific), ... Just tossing in ideas here.Freaper 15:49, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think I have some of these already. However, this made me rethink whether sorting was always the best option. I think filtering might be more effective (sometimes). In some cases, though, I think these might be more trouble than its worth: very few quest givers hand out multiple quests simultaneously and date of acquisition seems unlikely to help most players most of the time. Thanks again for the suggestions. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:59, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Further extensions[edit]
I like your suggestion. Those are good ideas.
What I've always felt was missing from the Quests window though is a full list of quests per campaign. After doing all campaigns and all expansions on every profession, I like to complete every last quest too, but it is quite impossible to keep a tally of which quests you've done and which you haven't done on each character.
Perhaps two new folders could be integrated into your suggestions for the quest window? Something like:
- Completed Quests -- quests which this character has completed
- Unknown Quests -- quests not yet obtained on this character
Clicking on a quest in the Completed Quests list could show you the last state of the quest info, with all sections crossed out to show completion as usual. Clicking on a quest in the Unknown Quests window could just give the name of the campaign, zone, and quest giver.
Perhaps this merits a Suggestion of its own, but I'll be doing a lot of reading of other people's suggestions first before I post one myself (I've only just discovered the Feedback portal). For now, perhaps you might like to extend your own suggestion in this way instead. Morgaine 09:26, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback.
- Even for those of us who aren't planning on lawn mowing (touching every last bit of grass in the game), it's helpful to know if you have completed a trade contract quest or not, gotten through Zinn's task, and so forth. I'd also like to see your idea implemented. Take a look around Feedback some more; if you decide you don't really want to start your own, let me know and I'll add the two-folder idea. Otherwise, mebbe typing it up will make you think of something else you'd like to see. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 11:06, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
