PvP. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 22:05, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
the new idea you gave it really does not follow the usual mind naming thematic pattern. i don't pvp much/at all, so i wouldn't know, but to me it just looks like they should split it and toss a few more seconds onto its recharge, or better yet, make it 2 second cast and change the recharge to 4 seconds.Akbaroth 06:28, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
indeed akbaroth, raising the recharge is a good and simple way to nerf it Talamare 06:32, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
You sound like Anet. 0/10 for creativity and balancing. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 13:56, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Distortion needed a nerf anyways and immolates power creep has been brought back down a bit. I agree a straight number nerf to MB would be fine.~>Sins WDBUser The Sins We Die By Sig.png 14:31, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Neither the immolate or distortion nerfs were needed? What exactly are you smoking?--118.90.78.237 16:40, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Immolate was unnecessarily buffed when the fire magic revamp happened. The nerf brought down that power creep. Distortion is a 75% block rate that can be used anytime with minimal consequences for several professions, it takes 10-12 seconds for an adrenal chain to charge. Yet distortion can be used every 5 seconds and lasts long enough to make it miss and add 3+ seconds to the time it takes a warrior to recharge it. So at the cost of ~10 energy, which recharges in about 7 seconds, you just made a warrior lose 15 seconds worth of adrenaline. The situation is similar for dervish and assassin's except they don't need to worry about adrenaline afterward, except that it's based on the other skill recharges and energy. So again, for ~10 energy you block two 5 energy attacks and an auto attack making a meleers move of positioning worthless and vulnerable.~>Sins WDBUser The Sins We Die By Sig.png 17:15, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Granted, but that's not necessarily overpowered, in the sense that if you mindlessly keep it up (without mind blast giving you unlimited energy) you face the downside of not having energy. Immolate didn't do very high damage, so I think it could have been left alone, since after burning it still wasn't that devastating, even when spammed. -- Tha Reckoning User Tha Reckoning Sig.png 21:41, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
It's not overpowered if you use it mindlessly no, but if a smart warrior and a smart E/Me and a smart Me/X with distortion are fighting each other the warrior will rarely enter combat with the distortion user because he has little chance at best to do anything. Immolate may seem nit-picky, but ANet said that the MB build is closer to the dps they were looking for it to do with the change. The major problem is the MB build and I would rather have them nerf MB too, but I'll take the hit to immolate. ~>Sins WDBUser The Sins We Die By Sig.png 22:14, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
