Illusions lingering shortly.[edit]

Interesting paradox that the one you point at.

What I've seen from the Mesmer's combat prowess (in the press videos), that it happens quite often that the current target dies before you can do anything with your illusions (especially in group play). Since as you outlined, they are tied to the target you had when you created them (even when creating them on a traited dodge roll). Moreover, when they disappear, they don't even trigger upon death or upon shatter effects (from the trait lines mainly).

Something is amiss : created to attack/distract tiredlessly your initial target only (even phantasm dont' change targets?), they exists for everyone, die impacting nearby foes, disappear without effect or go shatter against your current target.

Indeed, the mind of the mesmers should be made clearer than her opponents' troubles... like losing the oldest (created) illusion when its target dies, while the others (if any) linger for a while waiting your next prey. Same as for the Swap : five seconds to decide, this time by attacking a new target, or they automatically disappear.

With that system, though not forced to anymore, you can still butterfly your illusions to each its target, when that one die, the others stay focused. But when you maintain the pressure on a sole target, you still have ethereal fodder for the next nearby villain. -- User Leonim Sig.jpg Leonim [talk·contribs] 22:11, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
