If they decided to add another race, say hello to another 2 years of waiting for Build Wars 2. They're pretty cool, but I'm fairly certain that Anet has already decided on the 5 races that are going to be playable in BW2, and it would take a lot of work to add 20 new models and more lore/buildings/animations that would have to go with them. The 5 races, afaik, are set in stone. Nice idea though. --Gah_ 19:03, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

I could be in a future expansion of GW2.--Unendingfear User Unendingfear Crane.jpg 20:12, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
They must have some work for the Chronomancer ready already, I'd love to see it in GW2, I'd like a Tengu race as well, but maybe it's better they don't add too many races yet.
Yes, not too many at first, but as it is with profession, they will add more over time.--Unendingfear User Unendingfear Crane.jpg 15:20, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Personally, I'd rather they add in some Kodan or another 'new' race that will be in GW2, than add the Chronomancer on a large scale. A few Chronomancers throughout the 3 continents as "travelers from another continent" would be interesting to see, especially if they include lore with the NPCs. -- Azazel the Assassin/talk 03:12, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
The five races aren't "set in stone." They have only announced five so far. Of course, they probably aren't going to be adding or removing any races at this point, so all you can do is hope. -~=Sparky User Sparky, the Tainted charr sig.PNG (talk) 03:20, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
And I do hope =)--Unendingfear User Unendingfear Crane.jpg 19:25, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Also, Azazel, I really like your idea =D--Unendingfear User Unendingfear Crane.jpg 19:26, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
If the professions are set in stone, leave the Chronomancer for the time being. It wouldnt make much sense for it to be its own race *not to mention it'd be hard as heck.* They need their own goals, story, history, lore, racial things, etc... After the game is out for awhile, and Anet gets a hold of the new physics and how it will relate to the skill balance, then let us see the Chronomancer as a new profession in a future expansion for Guild Wars 2. But by all means, please do not scrap this Profession. It's an area not often explored by MMOs and the Art is just too good to waste :D --Malchior Devenholm 00:21, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
chronomancer was a profession not a race - i think the race was called the Sidhehowever I might be wrong Getefix 21:59, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

adding suggestion[edit]

It would be a great idea... their capital city would be 'the hub of times' ... from the never released campaign utopia --Frozen Ice Prince 19:33, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Problem With Chronomancer[edit]

I remember that the reason for them not using the Chronomancer was that the only ideas they had for skills were way too cheap, and would make it easier to just create an extremely powerful metabuild, which would make the possibility of there actually being a "best build."

Maybe Chronomancers could be sort of like an unusable race/profession, like the Mursaat. They could be like the remnant golems of Orr, except since Orrians were more technologically advanced than the Asurans, it would make sense that their machines/golems are far superior.

"The Chronomancers look unique enough to be a humanoid race" Did you miss that or something? >.> I was suggesting that they be a race, aka, not too many skill needed. They would just use profession's skills =p--/ u /nendingfear File:User Unendingfear Avatar.png 17:45, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

I have a few thoughts on the ideas already posted. If playable, they should be a profession, not a race. The explanation for the missing limb parts could be their magic transforming them, or the magical nature of their armor. It's temporary. Lore can fill in any explanation (if done well). Plus, their skills could make them unique from other professions. For instance, I love Ritualists, but they aren't unique in their skills. They could be thought of as a Necromancer hybrid of sorts. Chronomancers would stand out.

But if unplayable, being their own race would make sense, and their lore can be discovered over time. I kinda like the idea of them being more advanced or ancient than other races. They could be behind the scenes of many happenings in the world. An expansion really could make them the ultimate enemy, after a slew of other threats, like Dragons and Gods, you finally confront the Chronomancers. Time mages always are interesting.
