Feedback talk:User/Vipar/Spirit Companions

Honestly I think it would be pretty cool. My main is definitely going to be a ranger and I think this could open up some new possibilities especially with the companion skills that could be useful but would not make sense on an ordinary animal companion. It would not make sense for an animal to be able to teleport, make environmental effects on the ground, or even summon allies, but a spirit could do this easily. However even if it doesnt make sense I would also be fine with animal companions doing those things. --68.226.81.225 21:50, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

I like this too, and my main will also be a ranger. I think that yes it will be slightly disinterpellating if you jump into water and your eagle pet dissapears and your fishy pet just happened to be waiting for you. I also have a slight issue in that as a will-be-charr, certain feline pets will look slightly wierd, as if they are less important versions of me. I think having spirit pets would resolve this much better. I also think pets would be better in that currently in guild wars pets are pretty useless unless you're prepared to sink 7+ points into the pet skill line, which not many people are. If they were spirit, they'd have a camoflage of sorts and would'nt be such easy targets in pvp ( though I understand anet are working on this, and similarly this would'nt function as I suggested if auto-targeting remains in the game.) On the other hand I think the suggesting is lacking in that it deprives the user of variety if all pets are spirit, and I personally would like to see the textures and fur colors of my pet labrador ( you heard! If arena net fail to make a golden retriever/labrador pet I'm boycotting) or wolf or raven feathers of whatever.

To conclude, it would be a cool touch, but maybe just make pets so they are summonable, instead of being spirit-like. 212.139.253.161 21:37, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
