Feedback talk:User/Wazwolf/Name Change of the Charr Dinky
There's another possible take on it. "Dinky" could be the nickname of a particularly large and menacing Charr. Similar to how some very large, strong Humans are affectionately referred to as "Tiny". Given that we're talking about the Charr, I can't conceive of one willing to submit to such a humiliating nickname other than one so large and powerful that he (she?) isn't threatened or embarrassed by such a moniker. Such a nickname would draw even greater attention to their size and strength. Guild Wars 3 perhaps 23:03, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- My Steam nickname is Dinky. Dinky strikes fear into the hearts of my foes, and admiration into the hearts of all the ladies. As for its relevance in the story, every once in a while someone gets an unfortunate nickname and it sticks. The asura give each other nicknames all the time, and sometimes they stick even if the name doesn't really apply anymore. "Dinky" could be such a nickname. Another real life example, there was a short asian kid in my school who looked like Short-round, so he was called short-round. Later he hit a growth spurt around the beginning of high school and was about 6 foot 3 near the end of high school. But he kept the nickname because it had, unfortunately, stuck with him. - Hehe, it Dinky kinda sounds like a Tele-Tubby (However you spell that, I don't watch that show) name... Kormon Balser 13:11, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
It is a name I find affectionate at times, and sometimes just weak. This is a serious suggestion on my part, but one that I'm not too hung up on if no change occurs. I'm still going to pick Dinky as the Charr biography choice, simply cause he most reminds me of close friends. Wazwolf 03:32, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
