um people must have been very stupid before because Golden Fox Strike>Wild Strike>Shattering Assault was quite good and it is often better (beacuse it gets thru guardian) 128.176.178.20 00:22, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

I just noticed the exact suggestion had already been made. Still getting acquainted with the suggestion feed back, would appreciate if someone could delete or move this one. Zen` 00:29, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

An exact suggestion? You could mark the page for deletion. 64.222.106.112 00:49, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Anyways if the reason is jagged strike and fox fangs id rather see them nerfed than shattering assault and it's quite obvious if you take 4 ppl with enchament removal that makes enchaments pretty much useless. 195.95.208.223 07:57, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
It's not SA's problem but the passive e-management...or just move this to Crit attrib.--TeaCat._. User RedTeaCat TeaCat.jpg 08:42, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes, nerf necro touch skills because they cost nothing and the caster is invincible, nature rituals because they cost nothing and the caster is invincible, traps because they cost nothing and the caster is invincible, scythe attacks because they cost nothing and the user is invincible, dagger attacks because they cost nothing and the user is invincible, hammer attacks, pet attacks, bow attacks that can be spammed and cost nothing, nerf everything! Wait. Some of the above is all good but... how about you nerf Expertise instead? Oh, that, and the permanent Shield of Deflection too, which, I forgot to mention, also costs nothing. Expertise should only give half of its energy bonus from non ranger skills :/ and moving SA to crit attribute would still nerf assassins a bit ... 89.166.101.7 17:45, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
A very small bit. Make the damage normal damage, not damage that can sundercrit for 300 damage pls. NuVII User NuclearVII signature 3.jpg 00:21, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
SA can only hit 99x2 if both hits crit against 60 armor target with 16 dagger mastery and non crits 70x2 and how many targets there is with 60 armor rating/all casters can take shield's.
Never played with Sundering Weapon or Judge's, huh? NuVII User NuclearVII signature 3.jpg 21:08, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
Or you can use blind and soon the dmg is 0 or weakness or any anti melee hex or billion other skills wich affect dmg . Raemon 05:11, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
Ohai, my 300 damage skill is balanced because you can blind me!
Ohai, my instakill signet is balanced because you can ignorance me! NuVII User NuclearVII signature 3.jpg 20:25, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

@Raemon: "Just counter it" is a complete non-solution. Oh yes, we need people running a UG and a B-Surge in tombs to counter SA rangers. There is no easy counter to this besides keeping make haste on your infuser and kiting like hell. Degenerate pug builds in the past have relied on enchant stripping too, R/D sway with rending touch and thumper heroway with Order of Apostasy, but those both had easy counters (use cover enchants or shut down OoA). This doesn't have a counter, it's like having OoA ALL THE TIME. I'm sorry if people can't comprehend this. Zen` 06:46, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

This skill doesn't need a nerf. The reasons for this is simply it's an Assassin ELITE that may hit hard, but rarely results in the death of the target immediately. Therefore, this is a pressure skill. Pressure Assassins are decent in some niche situations, but generally are outclassed by so many other things. Besides, at a 10 energy cost, the average Assassin can't spam it continuously, even with extra energy management skills (skills that, if taken, further take away from an Assassin's ability to deal out damage, survive, or generally contribute to the team).

If this were taken in high-end PvP... well, Assassins aren't really part of high-end PvP anymore. In low-end PvP, there are just generally so many better options that this elite goes overlooked. Besides, the simple fact that the Assassin itself has to find and melee its generally obvious target first gives enemy teams time to snare it, blind it, or just generally hammer it with spells and attacks. An ailing Assassin isn't normally on the top of a healer's to-do list, so it normally doesn't take a lot to deter a sin. Also, simply keeping an Assassin in battle so it can pressure a target with dagger attack skills is a big pain for healers anyway. Let's not make it worse than it already is right now. It's decent right now. I'd just leave it alone. Tounaku 05:12, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

As said before, the problem isn't shattering assault, it's attack skills that contain their own inherent IAS and the fact that ranger's expertise affects non-bow attack skills. Nerfing every elite/regular skill that gets thrown on a ranger or that can be used with jagged/foxfangs isn't solving the problem it's avoiding it. Revert jagged + fox fangs (or at the very least make them 1s activation to fit with other non-interrupt attack skills in other profs) and fix expertise so that it only applies to binding rituals, touch skills, stances, and bow attacks and you've solved quite a few of the "gimmick" problems that are currently afflicting--and have been for several months/years now--the pvp metagame. Cheers--TahiriVeila 05:18, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Lmao like i said shattering assault cannot do 300 dmg on its own. So boosting skills can make it imbalanced but counters wont make it balanced ? wait what ? if there is buff that gives you +200 dmg and attact that does +2 dmg wich you gonna nerf the +200 dmg buff or the +2 dmg attack skill ? And i have allready noticed that everyone says that counter to skill doesnt make it balanced but really if you stack million dmg buffs and then use Keen Chop does that make it imbalanced ? This is balanced ASSASSIN ELITE skill but it is not balanced on ranger who can spam it all night and day with better survivability. Raemon 06:40, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
SA damage with 16 dagger mastery!
  • 60 armor = 70*2 non crits and 99*2 crits
  • 80 armor = 49*2 non crits and 70*2 crits
  • 100 armor = 35*2 non crits and 49*2 crits
Raemon 07:48, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
I completely agree with you TahiriVeila, but I'm operating out of a mindset that Linsey will not accept that the attack skill buffs were a huge mistake. It was evident they were less than a week after the August 6th update, the September updated completely dodged the issue by nerfing Escape instead and here we are in December now still enjoying R/A face rollers. Zen` 15:29, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
For the record, I never said Expertise, Jagged and FF weren't broken. All I'm saying is that SA is broken. Sundercriting for 300 damage (yeah, 300, lrn2sundering and lrn2judges) isn't okay. This page isn't about sway. It's about SA. Keep the discussion on SA. NuVII User NuclearVII signature 3.jpg 17:57, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Bottom Line: If they nerf Shattering Assault/Jagged/FF, then more assassin skill(s) bite(s) the dust until every last assassin attack skill is nerfed due to R/A faceroll abuse. If they nerf Expertise [making it affect ranger-based skills ONLY], then it's Bon Voyage to R/(insert secondary melee profession and weapon of choice here) for good (i.e.: Thumpers, Spear-Chuckers, RaO Axe, etc..)! It's basically cutting away at our already limited variety of builds. GW1 will officially begin to rot player's boredom because of the player's Qq streams. Oh well, GW1 is dead anyways, amirite? --Ulterion 20:28, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
