Guild Wars Wiki talk:Elections/2011-06 bureaucrat election/Tennessee Ernie Ford
I would like to briefly expand on my reason for nominating TEF for bureaucracy (let's pretend WT didn't beat me to it). We all know TEF to be a congenial level-headed wiki veteran with a penchant for sensible rhetoric. In the past he has declined administrative status on this wiki and GuildWiki several times because he prefers to remain a user with no sysop status to show that a user needn't have a special status to be influential. TEF is a "power user," in other words. While it's important that users recognize the basic equality of editors regardless of access to tools, I don't believe users should turn down roles for which they're more than qualified just to support a paradigm. I think the GWW bureaucracy suits TEF very well. He wouldn't need to exercise administrative muscle on a frequent basis, and the wiki would certainly benefit from a bureaucrat with an even disposition and a desire to communicate. elix Omni 00:05, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- Plus he's a beast when it comes to correcting grammar mistakes and synthesizing a lot of ideas into coherent trains of thought. As to how that would be useful for a bureaucrat position, the grammar part probably not so important, but being able to summarize as well as he does would come in handy in Arbcomm's I'd guess. razor39999 11:00, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think being well-written is a plus in any position requiring some element of diplomacy. elix Omni 21:47, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
