Sockpuppets[edit]

err, how do we prevent sockpuppets from voting? -- Coran Ironclaw 21:02, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

We strike votes as we find them? - anja talk 21:02, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
How do you find them? Coran Ironclaw 21:04, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
The same way as we usually do, smart heads and discussion ;) There's not much else we can do. It's still up to the bcrats to determine the outcome, so they can take account for such issues. :) - anja talk 21:06, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Neutral votes[edit]

So do Neutral votes count towards or against an RFA? — Eloc 22:03, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Do they count? As far as i have seen, their only purpose is to work as base for passing or rejecting a request if there is not enough support/rejection to make it clear (kinda, is more important what they say that how many of them are).--Fighterdoken 22:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Well I'm curious if they work towards or against Brains12 in his RFA. Most of the Neutrals say that he's not well known enough, and as such, Sysops need to kind of be weel known by the community, right? — Eloc 22:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
i guess the neutral votes are for giving tips to how the one we vote for can be better and what he might lack. Theyre just for adding your opinion and leaving the voting to the others --Cursed Angel talk 22:39, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Neutral is by definition neutral. It means we do not feel strongly either way, but we would still like to voice an opinion regarding the matter and indicate that notice has been taken. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 00:09, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Regarding my neutral comment I did not say he wasn't well known enough, I just said I didn't know him well enough. There is a difference. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 00:10, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Which is why I said most. — Eloc 00:54, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
They "count" because of the comments, either in support, against, or to offer counterpoints to support or oppose votes. It's why they're called Neutral votes - they are not wholly in support and not wholly against, just somewhere in the middle with comments/views/perspectives for bureaucrats to take into account. It's not how many neutral votes, but the why and what of the neutral votes. -- ab.er.rant sig 02:50, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
