(In)Activity

Even though i have no real reason to oppose, i am kinda concerned about your certain lack of activity (recent and overall) in the wiki (and we have enough useless inactive adminis already for my taste). Would you say you could dedicate more time to wiki administrative tasks if you were elected?--Fighterdoken 22:02, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

I completely understand why you bring this up. Your definition of inactivity seems to be based around contributions, but I see it differently. I'm on the wiki for several hours every day, looking for something I can help with. So, to answer your question, I would not dedicate more time - but as I sysop I'd have a lot more tasks to do to so my contributions would increase. -- Indochine talk 22:12, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, "stalking recent changes several hour a day" is good enough activity for me at least, but is not something that can be measured with the current tools, so clarification on such topic was needed :).--Fighterdoken 22:16, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

My thoughts and statement of support

I nominated Indochine for sysop because I feel he has the stuff to make a very good sysop. Everyone is commenting that his activities to this point have been primarily in regards to copyvios. This is true. But when you think about that subject, consider the things he has to explain to users who's images violate copyright. Rules that apply almost everywhere else do not apply here. People can't use their favorite pokemon for their sig icon, they can't post a screenshot that shows copyrighted software interfaces (most of which qualify as "Fair Use" anywhere else). Never once have I seen Indochine lose his cool with these users, no matter how much of a fight they put up. He thoroughly researches his actions, and seeks clarification in gray areas. I have come to value his opinion on many wiki related topics. I've asked for and always received valued input on all sorts of things related to this wiki. All of these things tell me that Indochine is exactly the type of person that this wiki needs as a sysop, I have the utmost trust that he would not abuse the tools, or violate the community's trust, and the utmost respect of his discretionary judgment. Someone said to me that 'not losing his cool' does not mean he would deal well with other users, and I guess I have to strenuously disagree and say that I think he has proven how well he can and does deal with other users in stressful times repeatedly. -- Wyn 06:10, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
