Passed along[edit]

Hi guys! I've passed this along to IT. I'll keep you posted :) --UserEmilyDiehlStar.gif Emily Diehl (talk) 03:47, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Request installed[edit]

IT sent me word this morning that this extension has been installed. Please let me know if there are any issues with it! --UserEmilyDiehlStar.gif Emily Diehl (talk) 00:09, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you, Emily :) poke | talk 00:11, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Ok there seems to be a problem with this extension. Normally the escape sequences like \p should be replaced as explained on the extension page. But no replacements are done.
Another example is a simple table:
{|
{{ #if: a | \p Test }}
{{ #if: a | {{!}} Test }}
|}
This should return a simple table with two cells but a "\p Test1" is returned for the first line instead whereas the second line works as espected. Could you ask the IT about solving this issue? poke | talk 01:06, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Is this an issue that has to do with the install of the extension? Or is this an issue that they would need to troubleshoot in the extension itself? If it is the prior case, providing me with general information of what they'd need to do to make the extension install properly would be really helpful. If it's something wrong with the core function of the extension itself, and if it's something that they would have to troubleshoot by reading about code fixes on help forums, I really don't think that they would be able to do that. If you guys can track down what would need to be done, I can pass it by them and see what they say. --UserEmilyDiehlStar.gif Emily Diehl (talk) 02:03, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I did some tests on that and it seems that this extension does not work as expected without modifying the parser extension which shouldn't be done only for this extension. Besides I already found out some workarounds for the problem which brought up the request of installing the character escapes. So this extension is not really needed thus I think we can either leave it as it is or remove the extension (maybe with the next request or when upgrading the wiki software). Thanks for your help, Emily. poke | talk 16:02, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Sure thing, Poke! I'm glad that you found a workaround for the issues you were encountering. If you need me to do any more following up on the extension at a later time (maybe if they update it to be more functional), please give a yell on my talk page :) --UserEmilyDiehlStar.gif Emily Diehl (talk) 19:25, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
