Guild Wars Wiki talk:User pages/Draft20090211
I think the restrictions put for ArenaNet employees' talk pages are a bit harsh. First of all, these are the talk pages of users so we would need (or at least want, for the sake of etiquette) their approval - especially if things can be removed by anyone (which is quite a broad statement for a talk page - we generally don't allow anyone except admins to remove things from talk pages (GWW:NPA, Guild Wars Wiki:Talk pages), and even then in extremely rare circumstances.
The discussion on the community portal went in favour of removing suggestions (provided the user whose talk page was in question supported this), but not "posting messages directed at ArenaNet in general, [...] or the use of the page as a general web forum". That's quite a large leap, and I don't think it's entirely necessary in regards to the suggestion-space removal. Not to mention it would add even more work for people - User talk:Isaiah Cartwright x 3 (and that's just counting the Big Three - Regina, Gaile, and Linsey (two of which, at least, who support the use of their talk pages for these things and probably don't want anyone and everyone removing sections)). -- Brains12 \ talk 15:19, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- I would agree with Brains that rather than placing a blanket rule regarding Arena Net employees, we stick with the Volatile page concept where a page is determined volatile on a case by case basis as the need arises. -- Wyn 17:45, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
