Royalist

The royalists are an Ascalonian faction that is opposing King Adelbern, considering him to not be the rightful king. Their goal is to overthrow Adelbern and put Duke Barradin, the original heir to the throne, in power despite Barradin's wish that Adelbern remain king. After the Searing, there has been no mention of the royalists by that term, but there are people who would still like to see Adelbern off of the throne - some preferring Prince Rurik to take the throne. The fate of the royalists from before the Searing is unknown. Before the Searing, royalists acted as bandits, attacking the general population on the roads, some of which resided in Regent Valley on the road to Fort Ranik.

Notes

• It is known that some Bandits in pre-Searing Ascalon are royalists, but it isn't known to what extent.
• The only royalist with a known name is Countess Nadya.
