Blocking from multiple sources[edit]

How do blocking effects from multiple sources interact? I'm guessing they stack multiplicatively (i.e. 2 50% block effects add up to a 75% block rate), but that's pure speculation. -- Gordon Ecker 22:11, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure you're right; it's multiplicative. If you had two sources for 50% block, the attack has 1/2 chance of bypassing the first, then has a 1/2 chance bypass the second, so in 3/4 cases (75%) the attack is blocked. --onoes! Mafaraxas 08:11, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
It is multiplicative. source... By the way, should this info be in this article, the Effect stacking article or both? (forgot to sign) BladeDVD 16:49, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Not really on-topic, but is it just me, or does the info for attack speed on that page seem to imply that Quick Shot + 33% IAS is the same DPS as Quick Shot without any IAS? I'll need to test that.... --71.234.134.180 04:36, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Well whaddya know, tested and confirmed with the master of damage, DPS for 10 seconds of Quick Shot is the same with and without Rapid Fire. --Belker 05:28, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

All blocking skills[edit]

Wouldn't it be nice to make a list of all skills that block? I'd volunteer to make one if anyone here agrees with me =) LunarEffect 18:15, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Agree. A list of all unblockable skills would be useful, too. --onoes! Mafaraxas 08:11, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

wild strike is being listesd as a warrior skill 21:03, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I've completed the lists on this page and created DPL versions on separate pages. -- Gordon Ecker 10:44, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

spells[edit]

is it noted that spells cant be blocked? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Crazi shot (talk).

"Blocking is one of the game mechanics that prevents an attack from hitting." --mira castillo 20:40, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

blocking critical hits[edit]

can you block a critical hit? do the block mechanics apply to a critical hit as if it were a normal attack? i'm guessing it would since a critical hit is an augmented attack. then again, there are certain skills that automatically perform critical hits. i guess those would be "attack skills". i have seen attack skills blocked. so i guess blocking mechanics apply to attacks and attack skills.

so, considering all that, the question still remains. do blocking mechanics apply to critical hits?

Is the default blocking probability zero?[edit]

The article and discussion don't seem to mention this, and I've always wondered about it. Can a foe ever block an attack without being under the influence of a skill that has increased the chances of blocking? (If so, what is the default blocking probability?) Or are all attacks unblockable unless you "learn how" by using a blocking skill? Morgaine 15:26, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
