They are customized when you get them71.159.145.220 02:07, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

YET AGAIN![edit]

Yet again Anet has punished us long time players... We cannot collect our rewards from previous hard work! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!!! Im beginning to think the most reward us long-time and mostly loyal is the pain of going through it all again. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:58.105.87.67 (talk).

I agree. They retroactively apply faction from past events, but not pages in these new storybooks? I just got my Legendary Guardian title after working a little every week for several months... Imagine how disheartening it is for folks in this position who could have had a huge title track bonus, but would now have to do these arduous tasks all over again... I hope Anet see's that this is more of an insult to long time players and does something about it. Not that I'm saying I don't like the concept - I just think the delivery was poor. --Brokunn 05:40, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

suggestion[edit]

Would someone please explain how to get the books and of what use they are. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:66.41.204.104 (talk).

See the individual book pages. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 02:42, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Storage increase to allow for new books?[edit]

Does anyone else think that they should allow extra storage space to allow for the new books? Maybe a book storage, like the crafting storage, or an extra bag to be able to carry the new books without compromising the amount allowed to carry? Just me talking randomly... I'll go back to my corner now and just mumble to myself. LOL--67.142.130.34 20:10, 15 November 2008 (UTC)BluJasmine

The idea is really cool, I think. And for me there are pros to this...

1.I like the book idea, its a nice way to keep track of what I'm doing and what I need to do next so I don't have to hit "M" to check which missions I'm missing on each of my girls (except Dahalia my ele, bless her heart after all her hard work on Protector/Guardian). If you're like me and you work on different characters, it really helps. 2. I like that there is some kind of reward. 3. I was happy to see my LB rank shoot up to near max saving me the LB farm grind.

But there's cons too...

1. I came at an odd time...after I spent hours and hours doing SS farming in that one area outside Gate of Desolation on the worm...or the farm where you had to let them keep using a res to kill a group over and over pre-hard mode. I'll get over it though, its all good. 2. Having all those books in storage is terrible. My storage space can get pretty tight at times, particularly on my characters that I use to PvP. My mesmer, ranger and monk have the last 2 bags reserved for their PvP equiptment...weapons, shields, hats blah blah... My Xunlai space is where I keep my active armor sets...my monk about 4 sets that she swaps too for various activities, hats for all the girls, and I also store special items like tomes, zkeys, booze for my ele...etc. I have some mules, but lately my rit has left mule status and is actively being played again...that means the mini pets get put to another place. I know 99% of GW players have the same set up as me, and struggle with all these books. My 2 cents is, can we talk to the NPC, take the book, the have it assigned to a window...like when we hit "I" for inventory, or "H" for the hero pannel? That would be awesome for both space and organization.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* User yasmin parvaneh sig.png 23:21, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Storage space[edit]

Just adding my twopenneth for the storage space... You get 20 slots free in your basic backpack and a total of 17 books to carry. Someone didn't do their math imo.

Our entire Alliance is agreed that perhaps a book shelf in the Storage Chest would be a good idea at least.

Come on guys, you know how much we have to carry as it is without giving us more clutter to fill £6 storage toons with...

So you are telling me you are bringing ALL 17 books with you, ALL the time? Why would you bring both a normal version and a hard mode version of any campaign? Just bring the book for which you are doing the missions, leave the other in storage. More, I find it hard to believe you actually are filling up that amount of books at the same time. Wouldn't it be easier to try and finish one book at a time; play one campaign/mode at a time? --Arduinna talk 12:49, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

New Title[edit]

I know there is already enough titles, but how about a Eternal Libarian title? Example: You have to have all 15 books that can be "turned in" filled up at once. Then deposit them into a bookshelf in the Hall of Monuments. Bam you get a Title, and in GW2 you could read those "history" books for fun. Of course, that's a lot of time and wasted faction from just turning them to the NCPs. I think it would be fun. Lonely Monk 18:45, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

IMO if they implement such a title, they should add a way to obtain normal mode Eye of the North reputation books after reaching rank 8 in the relevant titles and Hard Mode reputation books after maxing out the relevant titles. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 00:54, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Finally - More Storage[edit]

Now that the new update is out - I can actually carry around more than 2 or 3 books at any given time and still have enough storage space on my toon to pick up drops so I can cash them in for gold as an extra bonus. For those of you who want to know why I want to carry around more than one book be aware that farming an area repetitively for any length of time will result in ANET hitting you with the Farming Nerf which affects drop quality and rate. Yep - it's for real. Having several books on you at any given time provides you the flexibility to map to other places and get credit for quests done while helping out a friend or Guildie while taking a break from farming activities.

Is it mentioned anywhere that...[edit]

If you use a book in an area thats not one of the port towns(I.E. another outpost) When you win or loose you'll be transported to the town where you got the book? (or at least thats the case for me. Got my book in LA and used it in Sanctum cay outpost, when i got lag spiked and died i was transported back to LA) 24.233.254.51 00:10, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

New disambiguation?[edit]

Since GW: Fall of Ascalon has been just annonced as completed, are we gonna have a page for each one of the books? --talk Large 21:28, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
