Talk:Critical Strikes

The table and description make no sense. Description says 1% per POINT, table says 1% per RANK. According to the description, at rank 12 you should have +97% chance, but according to the table, at rank 12 you should have +12% chance. Is it per POINT or per RANK? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:68.196.141.53 (talk).

Someone should make a Critical Calculator that factors in all skills that increase % to crit+ weapon Mastery+ crit strikes rank.--Ja 22:54, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

First we'd need the actual critical hit formula. -- Gordon Ecker 01:56, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
1-((1-x(1))*(1-y(1))*(1-z(1))) = net chance; where x= skill% (explicitly stated), y= weapon mastery% (empirical), and z= crit% (explicit in CS rank). If you add additional skills just add another variable. Your theoretically best chance to critical would come from a dagger wielding assassin; Way of the Assassin, Critical Eye, DM@15, CS@16; 1-((1-.37(1))*(1-.16(1))*(1-.21(1))*(1-.16(1)) = ~65%. If you had a paragon with 16 command using "Go for the Eyes!" on you simultaneously a single attack would have an increased chance to critical of ~92%. Warriors can produce slightly higher critical hit percentages with Primal Rage but not sustained and it has a harsh penalty. 98.219.48.111 21:05, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Aware that this conversation is long dead and that Izzy (I think) provided the full formula from an old excel workbook, was aforementioned calculator ever finished? If so, a link would be lovely :D --AlexEternal 21:27, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Can you get Critical Strikes without having an assassin as your main via Runes?

Attribute and Rune. Can't use runs of other than primary profession. Backsword 12:14, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
You can, however, get it temporarily via shrine blessings. 69.249.223.63 06:24, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
